Chambers, will read bilingually from the author\u2019s latest award-winning novel. <em>The Absent Sea<\/em> explores the subject of the disappeared and, particularly, complicity during the Pinochet dictatorship (1973\u201390). Franz is an exponent of \u201cThe New Chilean Narrative\u201d of the 1990s, a movement whose writers have distanced themselves from the tradition of magic realism and whose works employ spare, unadorned prose.<\/p>\n<p>This program will be presented in English and Spanish.<\/p>\n<p>With Carlos Franz and Leland H.
