The Gwen M. Greene Center for Career Education and Connections honored student, faculty, and alumni partners who exemplify the Greene Center鈥檚 values鈥攔espect, collaboration, diversity and inclusion, betterment, and purpose.

John Cole 鈥�19 will study Mandarin Chinese in Xi鈥檃n, China; Joy Nicholas 鈥�19 will study Swahili in Arusha, Tanzania; and Jacqueline Tran 鈥�18 will study Arabic in Amman, Jordan as part of the US State Department's scholarship program.

The University's annual Three Minute Thesis competition challenges graduate students and postdocs to summarize their research with just three minutes and one slide.

Twelve students are the first to seek recognition as Grand Challenges Scholars by the National Academy of Engineering. The program asks the next generation of students to tackle some of the most pressing issues facing society.

As part Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April, members of the University community are participate in the national Clothesline Project, designing t-shirts to create a visual display of the real impacts of sexual assault.

There鈥檚 been a sea change in the way that college career guidance takes place. At the University of Rochester, the paradigm shift is written into name of the career services office itself: Gwen M. Greene Center for Career Education and Connections.

Hurricane Maria crippled Puerto Rico last September, leaving hundreds dead and more than a million homes without power. Providing a guest semester to first- and second-year undergraduates unable to attend their damaged home colleges is a way for the University to help them keep their academic programs on track.
