After a competitive application review,\u00a0Energy Services and Sustainability<\/a>\u00a0(ESS) was awarded nearly $3.9 million from the\u00a0New York State Energy Research and Development Authority\u2019s (NYSERDA)<\/a>\u00a0Commercial & Industrial Accelerated Efficiency program for highly impactful\u00a0energy efficiency projects<\/a>.<\/p>\n The majority of the funding will go toward HVAC optimization, which will have the greatest impact on energy savings and carbon emission reductions. Other projects include adding extra insulation via window skins to parts of Rush Rhees Library and the electrification of the\u00a0Brown Hound Downtown<\/a>\u00a0kitchen at the\u00a0Memorial Art Gallery<\/a>, which is underway. The University is splitting the cost of these projects evenly with NYSERDA, contributing their own $3.9 million.<\/p>\nHVAC optimization<\/strong><\/h2>\n
