October 25 &#8211; STUDENT Flu Vaccine Clinic at EASTMAN SLC!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On <strong>Friday, October 25<\/strong>, University Health Service (UHS) will host a flu vaccine clinic <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>for students<\/strong><\/span> from <strong>10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m<\/strong>. on the <strong>Eastman Campus<\/strong> in the <strong><em>Staff Dining Room of the Student Living Center<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h5>Students<\/h5>\n<p>Students can schedule an appointment for the 2024 Flu Vaccine Clinic through UHSConnect:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a class=\"u-link-external\" href=\"https:\/\/uhsconnect.ur.rochester.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Log in to UHS Connect<\/a><\/li>\n<li>After logging on to <strong>UHSConnect<\/strong>, click on <strong>\u201cAppt. Scheduling\u201d<\/strong> and then <strong>\u201cSchedule Appt\u201d<\/strong> to schedule an appointment. You will first need to READ and ACCEPT the <strong>Terms of Service<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>UHS-Vaccine Clinic<\/strong> in the Office Location field.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>October 25 \u2013 October 25 <\/strong>in the <strong>Date From <\/strong>and <strong>Date To<\/strong> fields.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>Flu Vaccine Clinic \u2013 EASTMAN SCHOOL<\/strong>\u00a0as the <em>Reason for Appointment<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Search<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Schedule your appointment by clicking on one of the appointments listed on the right side of the screen.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Confirm <\/strong>to schedule your appointment.<\/li>\n<li>Please complete the <a class=\"u-link-pdf\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/uhs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Flu-Vaccine-consent-UHS-MCR-60d-2024-2025-Inactivated.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Influenza (Flu) Vaccine Consent Form 2024<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and bring it with you to the vaccine clinic.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Students under 18<\/span> must bring the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/uhs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Flu-Vaccine-consent-UHS-MCR-60d-2024-2025-Inactivated.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">completed flu vaccine consent form<\/a> signed by their parent or guardian to their appointment<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>UR Employees: Faculty &amp; Staff<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1.25rem;\">The flu vaccine is covered in full for all active members of the UR student health insurance plan (Aetna), the UR Employee Health Plan (Excellus) and generally covered in full by most private insurance plans. Contact your insurance plan directly for specific network and coverage details. Flu vaccines offer the best and safest way to prevent the spread of the illness and getting vaccinated does not cause the flu.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Employees can get their flu vaccine in one of the following ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Pharmacy walk-ins.<\/strong>\u202fThis may be the easiest way for a lot of faculty and staff. With most health insurance plans, there is no cost when you visit a pharmacy such as CVS, Walgreens, or Wegmans to receive a flu vaccine, and no appointment is needed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Visit your primary care doctor.<\/strong> Your family doctor should have the vaccine available for you and your family.
