University achieves full compliance in student vaccination confirmation process

In April 2021, the University announced the requirement for all students to upload through UHSConnect proof of their COVID-19 vaccination, or file a request for a medical or religious exemption to the vaccine. Today, records show that every single full-time studentroughly 11,850 total studentshave complied with this requirement, according to the University Registrars Office.

All registered undergraduate and graduate students are either compliant, exempt, or otherwise accounted for (late arriving international students may still be completing their vaccination process).

Tremendous credit goes out to every member of our student body for following through on this task, as well as to the dedicated staff at University Health Service who managed both vaccine verifications and the granting of individual exemptions, to the Universitys Registrars Office, and to all of the University departments that provided substantial contributions to the success of this project, says University Interim Provost Sarah Peyre. I am extremely happy that every student was able to comply with this policy and we collectively are doing our part to keep our campuses safe.

The driving force behind the Universitys student vaccination requirement is to protect the health and safety of the University community to the fullest extent possible while enabling in-person instruction and activities.

On August 26, the University additionally announced a COVID-19 vaccination requirement for all faculty and staff.
